Urticaria
Urticaria, also known as hives, are itchy, red or pink swelling of the skin. Urticaria can be rounded or flat-topped but are always elevated above the surrounding skin. It may appear on one part of the body or be spread across large areas.
Cause
It is caused by high level of histamine and other chemical messenger in the serum. It can be induced by factors such as pollen, medications, food, animal dander, and insect bites.
Symptoms
Appearance of blotches of red or complexion colour over the skin, itching, swelling that causes pain or burning especially around the eyes, cheeks, lips, hands, feet and genitals. Urticaria may be accompanied with fever.
Homoeopathic management
Drugs like Antim crudum, Arsenic album, Borista, Graphites, Dulcamara, Hepar Sulphur, Kali arsenicosum, Mezerium, Petroleum, Psorium, Rhus toxicodendron, Sulpur, Sulpur iodate, Urtica urens, etc. are frequently prescribed homoeopathic physicians.
