Lamium album MT is indicated for external use in piles. It is one of the oldest remedies, but was not used so much later perhaps due to non-availability. It is indicated for backward and forward motion of the head, and headache, uneasiness of mind, trembling of limbs, weakness during chills, scanty menses, much leucorrhoea. In phyto-therapy it is considered as uterine tonic and is used to arrest inter-menstrual bleeding or to reduce excessive bleeding. It has also been used in haemorrhoids and in varicose veins. Recent studies have established that it is a valuable medicinal plant which possesses astringent, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and bacteriostatic properties. Very recently, a studies has unearthed its anti-oxidant property which was not known till then.
