Helianthus annus MTĀ is used in old cases of intermittent fevers, coryza, catarrh, nasal haemorrhage and thick scabs in nose. It is also useful in rheumatic pain in the left knee, in cases of vomiting, black stools, congestion, dryness of mouth and pharynx; redness due to heat of skin. It also relieves symptoms aggravated by heat and relieved by vomiting. It has marked effect on stomach, nausea, vomiting, and dryness of mouth. It is also used as diuretic, expectorant pulmonary affections and in scorpion-sting. Externally used like Arnica and Calendula. Burnett regards Helianthus as a great spleen remedy
