Ammonium muriaticum MT suits to fat and sluggish people, and who have small, thin legs. They are prone to suffer from catarrhal conditions, and as a result it is indicated in cases of coryza that is watery and acrid and corrodes the lips. It is indicated for itching eruptions of all kinds, drowsiness by day with indolence, shivering in the evening. It covers sneezing and crawling in the throat, with extreme soreness and tenderness of the nose, and loss of smell, which has a tendency to extend downward to the larynx and broncial tubes, giving rise to bronchial catarrh and broncho-pneumonia, when the cough may be either dry or hacking, and attended with stitching pains and profuse expectoration with great rattling in the chest. In chest complaints, a sensation of coldness between the scapulae is observed. Marked aphonia, hoarseness, and rawness and burning in the larynx are seen when the catarrh is in the larynx. It helps to relieve constipation and haemorrhoids, especially when the stools are hard and crumble at the verge of the anus, and require great effort to expel them. The haemorrhoids are sore and smarting, and are attended by burning and stinging in the rectum following the stool. It acts upon leucorrhoea which has the appearance of the white of egg, preceded by griping pains in the region of the navel, and at times is of a brown, slimy appearance.
