Alstonia scholaris MT

Alstonia scholaris MT is used in malarial diseases, with diarrhoea, dysentary, anaemia, and feeble digestion. Characteristics are the gone sensation in stomach and sinking in abdomen, with debility. It is also used as tonic after exhausting fevers. Its milky juice is applied locally to ulcers and rheumatic pains. Confirmed antipyretic, but action on malaria remains unexplained. Anticancer activity reported. A recent study has shown that it has a significant antifertility effect in male rats; the primary site of action may be post meiotic germ cells.
