Agrimonia eupatoria MT has antihaemorrhagic, wound healing, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and anti-toxic properties. In small doses orally it is reported to be gentle tonic for digestion. In herbal medicine it is also used as urinary antiseptic and for kidney stones. It finds a short mention in Homoeoapthic Materia Medica & Repertory by William Boericke where it is recommended for pain in the region of kidneys. Reports in phyto-therapy as useful in rheumatism and arthritis. Laboratory work confirms its action as blood clotting agent. Recent studies have found that the seed of this plant possess antioxidant and antibacterial activities.
