Agave americana MT

Agave americana MT is indicated in stomach ache and painful erections in gonorrhoea. Reported to be useful in strangury and hydrophobia. It is also used in scurvy; countenance pale, gums swollen and bleeding; legs covered with dark purple blotches, swollen, painful and hard. Appetite poor; bowels constipated. Its roots are diuretic, diaphoretic and anti-syphillitic. Juice of the leaves are laxative, diuretic, emmenagogue and is also useful in scurvy. In west, it is used for wound healing (like calendula) and in Mexico to treat nervous conditions. A recent study reports it possess antifungal activity.
