Characteristic acridity in all its affections.

Head: Severe pain that has to bore head in to the pillow. Headache from warmth, from warm clothes, from drinking hot coffee.

Nose: Nostrils feel sore. Acrid and burning discharge that excoriates and produces a raw soreness. Nose feels obstructed, has to breathe through mouth. Blood streaked coryza with a watery discharge. Nose stopped up. Picks the nose until it bleeds.

Mouth: Mouth feels raw especially at roof and palate. Lips are chapped and burning. Corners of mouth are sore from being cracked. Picking of lips until they bleed. Even saliva burns and corrodes.

Throat: Swollen glands. Throat burns and feels raw. Constant hawking and hoarseness. Complaints made worse by talking, singing.

Skin: Reddish rash. Skin covered with raw and bloody surfaces anywhere.

Modalities: Worse, northwest wind; and by lying down.
