A state of weakness simulating a typhoid state is indicated by this remedy. Excessive mucous secretions causing congestion. Suited to fat and sluggish patients who have respiratory troubles. Palpitations. Its periods of aggravations are as such: the head and chest symptoms are worse in the mornings, the abdominal in the afternoon, the pains in the limbs, the skin and febrile symptoms, in the evenings. "Boiling" sensation predominates.

Mind: Melancholic , apprehensive; similar to that caused from internal grief. Wants to cry, but cannot. Ailments from grief.

Nose: Excessive acrid, hot watery discharge that corrodes the lip. Sneezes with sore tip of the nose. Unable to smell. Obstructed and stuffy nose despite trying to blow out the mucus repeatedly.

Throat: Throbbing and swelling of the throat. Difficulty to swallow. Rawness of throat better by eating. Thick phlegm that cannot be hawked up.

Rectum: Itching and swelling with soreness. Hard stool that crumbles at the verge of anus. Glairy mucus in stool. Stinging pains in perineum. Green stools with mucus that alternate with hard stools. . Burning in stool after and during it. Complaints of rectum after leucorrhea stops.

Respiratory: Larynx feels hoarse and burns. Dry cough that is worse by lying on back or on the right side. Cough loosens in the afternoon, with profuse expectoration and rattling of mucus. Burning in small spot on the chest.

Modalities: Better, in open air. Worse, head and chest symptoms in the morning; abdominal symptoms in the afternoon.
