Suited to the aged and feeble, especially in chronic respiratory troubles. Irritable and sensitive to cold. Neck burns and has to scratch it. Primary action on mucous membranes, causing first decreased and then increased secretion. Appearance of stars and fiery points before the sight. Can see smoke in circles. Diminished vision. Dim sight from reading. Swelling of testicles. Heart beat felt too strong worse by lying on left side. Mucus accumulates often. Pain as stitches.

Head: Pain in head from congestion due to mucus.

Eyes: Diminished sight. Floaters before the eyes. Eyes easily fatigued by reading.

Throat: Throat feels dry and is worse by inhaling fresh air. Burning in throat. Scraping sensation in throat. Has to swallow repeatedly as food seems stuck in the throat.

Respiratory: Difficulty in breathing. Chronic cough with phlegm. Greenish phlegm worse in cold weather. Mucus tough and hard. Palpitations felt till the abdomen. Rattling cough in old people.

Modalities: Worse by lying on left side, in cold air.
