Obstinate constipation and hemorrhage from the bowel especially in cases of typhoid are indicated by this remedy. Weakness of muscles. Hardening of tissues. Suited to old people. Sensation of dryness and constriction runs through the remedy. Difficulty swallowing liquids.

Head: Burning pain in head as if a weight were kept on the top of head better by pressure of hand. Vertigo, with weakness in stomach. Hair falls in patches.

Throat: Throat feels relaxed. Mucous membranes are red and swollen. Cough with tickling in throat. Swelling of the throat. Heartburn .Inability to speak. Every cold settles in the throat and it feels constricted.

Rectum: Obstinate constipation with no desire for days together. Unable to expel stool. Stool passes in marble like masses but rectum still feels full. Itching in anus after stool. Pain and smarting in rectum long after stool. Yellow stool, like an infants. Bleeding from rectum.

Female: Hardening of the breast. Chronic yellow vaginal discharge with little lumps along urethra. Watery menses.

Respiratory: sputum with blood and difficulty expelling mucus. Excessive and ropy expectoration in the morning especially in old people.

Modalities: Worse by cold except headache, which is relieved by cold.
